DAY 17 – Exhausted after massive day out driving from the North Shore (where we’re staying), to the South Shore to drive up and view Waimea Canyon from the lookout. It was very special but the North Shore (in general) is so much prettier than the South Shore.
On the way back we dropped into the Kauai Coffee Plantation (coffee addicts in our group were very pleased). FREE coffee samples galore! After a quick self-guided tour through the plantation and viewing of the museum we moved on to the Spouting Blowhole (a pretty spectacular sight). Basically the water spouts up through the rock pools and makes a loud sound.
Then out for dinner ‘cos we were too tired to cook and BED! Massive day today. We’ll be looking for a quieter day tomorrow – perhaps a bike ride along the beachfront?
